Candy AI offers a limited free preview, according to its help center. Free users can send up to five chat messages across all characters, create one custom character and generate one image. Continuing with unlimited text chat requires a paid plan; generated media can involve a separate token budget.
This guide explains the public documentation checked on October 1, 2026. We did not test a logged-in free account or buy a subscription. The documented allowance is a useful starting point, but it is not a guarantee that every account will receive an identical offer.
What Can You Use Without Paying?
Candy's free-user help page lists three allowances:

The help page was last updated in May 2025 and remains accessible. It does not explain every condition of the image preview, such as resolution, downloading or whether the result is fully visible. We have not verified those details and would not treat one documented generation as a promise of an unrestricted download.
Voice and video are not listed in that free allowance. A button or feature advertised elsewhere on the site does not establish free access to it.
Are the Free Messages Renewed Every Day?
The official free-user page does not state a daily reset. It gives a shared allowance across characters. For example, if you use three messages with one character and two with another, that uses five messages under the documented shared limit. This is an illustration of the rule, not a test we performed.
Do not plan on receiving five new messages tomorrow or a fresh quota by switching characters. The reset schedule remains unverified, rather than confirmed daily or confirmed never.
Candy's homepage uses free-trial language, but the official pages checked did not establish a universal seven-day trial with full Premium access. If your account displays a separate promotion, check its duration, included features and any payment or renewal conditions. The limited free allowance and a promotional trial are different offers.
What Changes With Premium?
The paid-user documentation lists unlimited chatting and 100 tokens per month for standard Premium. Tokens are credits used for additional features. Calling them free or included with a subscription does not make the subscription itself free.
Candy's additional-token explanation says ordinary paid text chat remains available after the token balance runs out. Images, video and voice features can require credits. Unlimited text therefore does not mean unlimited media, and a media prompt inside a chat should not be confused with an ordinary text message.
There is also a separate Premium Plus tier. Its help page lists 330 monthly tokens and additional controls, including personas, memory slots and chat clones. We did not verify a current Plus price. The standard Premium prices below must not be applied to Plus.

What Do the Paid Options Cost?
The public subscription page showed these standard Premium offers on October 1, 2026. All amounts are US dollars, not a local-currency quote for every reader.

The annual offer requires US$47.88 upfront. US$3.99 is the result of dividing that payment by twelve, not a monthly installment. Likewise, US$26.97 divided by three is US$8.99. Extra token purchases are separate from these subscription charges.
The page describes automatic renewal at the same price and term, with possible additional local taxes. Offers can differ by session or change later. Verify your selected tier, currency, full payment and renewal terms in the final offer before paying; the displayed discount alone does not establish your eligibility.
How to Make the Free Preview Useful
Treat the small allowance as a first look at the interaction, not a test of long-term memory or media consistency.
- Choose one use you actually care about. A short fictional scene or a conversational tone is more informative than spending the allowance on unrelated greetings.
- Keep the shared message budget in mind. Try one clear request and a follow-up rather than expecting a fresh allowance for each character.
- Evaluate the character and image separately. A pleasing image does not establish conversational quality, and one reply cannot prove consistent recall.
- Stop at the payment decision. Identify whether you want more text access or media features, then compare the subscription and token costs separately.

Before Paying or Cancelling
If the preview is enough for your curiosity, there is no need to assume you must upgrade. If you want continuing text conversations, compare the full subscription commitment. If media is the main attraction, check the action cost and top-up offer before choosing a longer term.
Candy's cancellation instructions direct subscribers to My Profile, Settings and Unsubscribe, followed by confirmation. We checked those instructions, not a completed cancellation. Keep the confirmation and check the next renewal date. Cancelling renewal is not, by itself, a promise of a refund.
